Peaks and Valleys

A long time ago ~ long before Big Bear and I were married ~ a friend told me that marriage is a series of peaks and valleys.

Little did I know at the time just how true are those words.

I just wish that the valleys didn't come along when the peaks are rolling along so blissfully peaceful. A nice stroll to the valley would be much more pleasant than the jumping off the ledge that seems to occur.

Thankfully the trek back to the peak is worth the effort, no matter how hard the journey can be at times.

  1. Marriage is hard work. The rewards are worth it. Hope you reach the peak soon.

  3. 23 years of peaks and valleys. Sometimes I have wanted to jump off of the peak! If life didn't keep throwing such curveballs marriage would be easier too.
Always remember how much you loved each other the day you said I do, that love never dies sometimes it just needs to be dusted off.

  4. Hoping there are many, many more peaks than valleys. It must be tough at times for sure. ((hugs))

  5. yep peaks and valleys....sometimes you want to jump off...other times you would like to push your spouse:) The best advice is to grab on to each other and trudge on up!

  6. I completely understand. Every peak and valley you cross makes your marriage stronger and stronger.

  7. & I couldn't agree more. What doesn't destroy a marriage only makes it stronger.

  8. it's a labor of love, but labor nonetheless with tough spots along the way. i always feel those tough spots ultimately bring a couple much closer together, if they allow it.

    thinking of you both.
